Allow me to reintroduce myself
Hi, I’m Constance. My friends call me Connie. If you read my ‘About Me’ page, you already know quite a bit. Let’s see, I’m a huge Āyurveda nerd, yoga practitioner, and birth & postpartum doula. Done and done, right? Well, not exactly. It’s goes much deeper than that. My work as a doula has been spearheaded by my inner child healing. This is a process of addressing the needs that were unmet in childhood. This quantum inner child I communicate with is little Connie and we work together on healing trauma from yesteryear. It first started with me recognizing the traits that were blocking me from spiritual development. From there I began to unlearn and peel back the layers of conditioning that felt inauthentic. What was true for me versus what was indoctrination. The process was engulfing and had me going through many emotions. From rage to utter joy, from deep sadness to boundless peace. This journey of coming back to myself has been a rollercoaster of feelings. As I work through my own inner child healing, my work as a doula and yoga teacher becomes that much richer.
I got into this field after using yoga and Āyurveda to heal my depression at 19. From there, I wanted to share these practices with my community and help birthing people recover their inner wisdom. Working closely with mothers as a doula forced me to confront the parts of myself that needed mothering. I became the mother that little Connie cried out for so that current me can heal those wounds. From psychological manipulation, sexual abuse, and emotional trauma. I no longer wanted to live a life of dejection. Like a butterfly, I am coming out of my cocoon ready to emerge anew. This doesn’t mean the healing process is over, it means that I have integrated everything I’ve learned on this journey and I’m ready for the next chapter. So, allow me to reintroduce myself. I’m Constance. Badass survivor, healer, and protector of little Connie.
What you can expect from this page is witnessing my spiritual journey through yoga and Āyurveda. You will see these healing modalities through my eyes and hopefully learn something along the way. Āyurveda is a mind-body practice that brings you in alignment with nature. Yoga is a spiritual practice that leads to samadhi, or union with the soul. Together these systems help you to live a more balanced life full of vitality. This blog will be a resource for anyone looking to restore serenity and peace of mind.
